The Xiaomi Smart Band 8 also got announced for global markets, Xiaomi’s fitness tracker. On top of all that, the Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro also got presented.
The Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro is official, with Wear OS, Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1, and more
The Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro is the smartwatch that was rumored for a long time. It’s Xiaomi’s very first Wear OS smartwatch. The company is not new to smartwatches in general, but was including its own software up to this point.
This device actually looks like a proper watch, with a circular display, and some buttons on the right side. It has three buttons there, two regular ones, and a third one in the middle that doubles as a rotating crown.
It includes a stainless steel case
The Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro is made out of metal, stainless steel, to be more exact. You can choose between leather or fluoro rubber straps. This watch also includes a capable SoC, and rather good specs overall.
It is fueled by the Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 SoC, which is essentially the best chip Xiaomi could great. It also offers LTE connectivity (eSIM), in case you’d like to have access to the Internet without the watch being connected to your phone. Do note that there will be two variants of the watch, one with an eSIM support, and one without.
Dual-band GNSS is included, and over 150 sports modes
You’re also getting dual-band GNSS here, and over 150 sports modes. Sleep tracking is also included in the package, while the watch can measure your heart rate, Sp02, and more. It is also 5ATM water resistant, as expected.
On the front, you’ll spot a 1.43-inch 466 x 466 AMOLED display. That panel goes up to 600 nits of brightness at its peak, while we’re looking at 326 PPI here. The watch also packs in 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.
You’ll find the usual array of sensors here, including an optical heart rate sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, ambient light sensor, electronic compass, barometer, and bioelectrical impedance analysis sensor.
You can choose between Bluetooth only & 4G LTE/eSIM versions
Xiaomi included a 495mAh battery on the inside, and says you can get up to 55 hours of battery life (LTE version). If you opt for the Bluetooth version, you can get up to 65 hours of battery life. Bluetooth 5.2 is also supported.
The Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro without LTE/eSIM support starts at €269. The LTE/eSIM version starts at €329 in Europe. The watch will be available to purchase in the near future
