The Xiaomi MIX Flip will join the MIX Fold it seems, the company is preparing to launch its first flip phone. The ‘Mix Flip’ moniker has been spotted at IMEI, though chances are Xiaomi will change the ‘Mix’ to ‘MIX’ in its official branding. It did the same thing with the MIX Fold series.
The Xiaomi MIX Flip is coming, but we’re still now sure when
The phone surfaced at IMEI with the model number ‘2311BPN23C’. That’s not saying a lot, but there you go. The Xiaomi MIX Fold may be coming, but we may have to wait for it to arrive until next year.
Earlier rumors suggested that the phone will launch alongside the Xiaomi MIX Fold 4 next year. If that ends up being the case, we’re in for quite a wait, as the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 arrived last month.
There is a chance, of course, that those rumors are off, and that Xiaomi could launch this thing way sooner than that. All we can do now is sit and wait. We’re not even sure what will the device look like, even though some designs did surface.
Its design got tipped months ago
One such design was shared by GSM China months ago, you can check it out below. This phone has three cameras on the back, at the very top of its backplate. Below it sits a cover display, as you can see.
On the main display, you’ll notice a centered display camera hole at the top. The phone, of course, folds right down the middle, as is the case with every clamshell foldable thus far.
If it ends up launching alongside the Xiaomi MIX Fold 4 next year, chances are it will be fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. Well, unless Xiaomi decides to make this phone less powerful than its ‘Fold’ sibling.
Every Xiaomi MIX Fold device thus far has been confined to China. Not a single one reached any other markets. Let’s hope that will change with the Xiaomi MIX Fold 4, and the MIX Flip, of course.
