Xiaomi launched several truly compelling high-end smartphones this year. The Xiaomi 13 series arrived, consisting of the Xiaomi 13, Xiaomi 13 Pro, and Xiaomi 13 Ultra handsets. The Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 also got announced, a foldable flagship. Now, the company has presented the Xiaomi 13T Pro, a more affordable alternative to its main flagships. This is a global launch of the device, by the way, and also an initial launch at the same time.
The Xiaomi 13T Pro is now official with great specs
Why do I refer to it as such? Well, it still has all the staples of a flagship phone, but it costs less than Xiaomi’s actual flagship. Xiaomi did have to cut some corners in order to get there, but it did that carefully, with features that are not essential.
This smartphone has one of the most powerful SoCs available, the fastest RAM and storage, and a flagship-grade main camera, amongst other things. Before we get down to specs, let’s talk about its design.
The Xiaomi 13T Pro is made out of metal and glass. It has a different camera island on the back compared to its siblings. It’s a square one in the top-left corner, and it does protrude quite a bit.
The phone has a flat display, and it’s fueled by MediaTek’s most powerful SoC
The phone’s sides are flat, but slightly curved towards the sides for comfort. A flat display sits on the front, and it includes a centered display camera hole. The phone does feature an IR blaster at the top, as we’ve come to expect from Xiaomi’s handsets.
The Xiaomi 13T Pro is fueled by the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+, and it packs in up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM. It also comes in variants with up to 1TB of internal storage (UFS 4.0). Android 13 comes pre-installed, with MIUI 14.
A 144Hz display is included, as is a 5,000mAh battery, and 120W charging
On the front, you’ll find a 6.67-inch 2712 x 1220 AMOLED display. That panel has a 144Hz refresh rate, and a 20:9 aspect ratio. A 480Hz touch sampling rate is also included, and the panel gets up to 2,600 nits of brightness at its peak. Dolby Vision is supported, as is HDR10+ content. This display also supports PWM dimming up to 2,880Hz.
A 5,000mAh battery is included in the package, and 120W fast wired charging is supported. The phone does not support wireless charging, but thanks to the included charger, this phone can fully charge (0-100%) in only 19 minutes.
You’ll find a truly compelling camera setup on the back of the Xiaomi 13T Pro
A 50-megapixel main camera (1/1.28” sensor size, 1.22um pixel size, f/1.9 aperture, OIS, 7P aspherical lens) is included on the back. A 12-megapixel ultrawide camera (f/2.2 aperture, 5P aspherical lens) also sits on the back, as does a 50-megapixel telephoto camera (f/1.9 aperture, 5P aspherical lens). Leica’s lenses and camera prowess are a part of the package.
There are two SIM card slots here, and the phone supports Wi-Fi 7. Bluetooth 5.4 is also a part of the package, and so is 5G support. The Xiaomi 13T Pro is also IP68 certified for water and dust resistance.
Three color variants have been presented
The Xiaomi 13T Pro comes in Alpine Blue, Black, and Meadow Green color options. The Alpine Blue color has vegan leather on the back, while the other two include glass backplates.
The Alpine Blue model measures 162.2 x 75.7 x 8.62mm. The other two options measure 162.2 x 75.7 x 8.49mm. The pricing starts at €800.
