The company has published a new video via its YouTube channel, which is embedded below the article. That being said, let’s talk about this camera a bit more, so that you get the whole picture.
The FLIR Lepton 3.5 camera is used here, and it has a resolution of 160×120. That may not seem like a lot in general, but keep in mind this is a thermal camera. It’s plenty, actually. The Lepton 3.5 is actually one of the most advanced radiometric thermal camera cores in the Lepton family.
Ulefone highlights that this sensor gets a substantial four-fold increase in thermal resolution compared to its predecessors. It is actually capable of reading temperatures of up to 400 degrees Celsius.
That phone also comes with the MyFLIR app. Needless to say, you’ll need to use that app in order to take full advantage of the thermal camera that is included on the device.
What can this camera be used for?
What can you use this camera for? Well, it can detect heat emitted by both objects and people. It can do that even in complete darkness, which makes it really useful in some cases.
You can use this camera to inspect a vehicle’s engine compartment, identify overloaded sections of electrical circuits, detect leaks in pipes, assess the temperature of household appliances, and so on.
This camera is not the only notable thing about the Ulefone Power Armor 18T Ultra, though, not at all. The phone also comes with the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 processor, 12GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage.
The phone also supports storage expansion up to 2TB, and has a 9,600mAh battery. This is a rugged phone, and it has all the certifications for ruggedness you’d expect, including the MIL-STD-810H and IP68/IP69K certifications.
