The Sony Xperia 1 V design has just been revealed in full, via both images and video. @OnLeaks partnered up with greensmartphones.com in order to deliver this content. The images and video clip you can see below the article show you CAD-based renders of the device.
The Sony Xperia 1 V design gets revealed in detail, via both images & video
This is not the first Sony Xperia 1 V design leak we’ve seen, though. The phone surfaced in one image, a real-life one, showing us its backside. It seems like that leak was also spot on, as it goes hand-in-hand with this design.
In any case, the Xperia 1 V will be very similar to its predecessor, design-wise. Sony is not moving away from its design language. It will have that narrow and tall aspect ratio, with flat sides.
The camera island on the back also looks familiar, and it’s vertically-aligned. It’s located in the top-left corner, and the ZEISS branding is visible here. Three cameras will seemingly be included on the phone.
An audio jack will sit at the top of the phone, while the phone’s power/lock button will double as a fingerprint scanner. A Type-C port will sit at the bottom of the device, along with a SIM card tray.
The front-facing camera will once again be included in the top bezel of the device. We presume that the Xperia 1 V will be made out of metal and glass, like its predecessors.
The device is expected to include a 6.5-inch display, and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC
Now, the phone is expected to include a 6.5-inch display, and it will measure roughly 161 x 69.3 x 8.5mm. The source also shared some other spec info, though these are just speculations at this point.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC is expected to fuel this handset. The phone is set to offer up to 16GB of RAM, while a 5,000mAh battery is also mentioned. A 12-megapixel main camera will allegedly be backed by a 48-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 12-megapixel telephoto camera on the back. A single 12-megapixel camera may be located on the front side of the device.
The Sony Xperia 1 IV launched in May last year, and became available in June. The Xperia 1 V is expected to launch either at MWC later this month, or in the coming months. Perhaps Sony expects to wait until May again, we’ll have to wait and see.
It would, of course, be the best option to launch the device at MWC, so that it can compete with a ton of other devices that already launched, or are launching soon.
