Razer at CES today is announcing the Leviathan V2 Pro, its new gaming soundbar for PC that uses artificial intelligence to power head-tracking technology. Razer as a company is no longer just about gaming specifically. Hailing itself as the world’s premier lifestyle brand for gamers whenever it can. That being said, Razer is still primarily focused on advancing and improving the gaming experience as much as possible.

Each new year brings new innovations from the company. And it’s fair to say that a decent amount of products the company develops are intended to make gaming more immersive. That’s the whole idea with the Razer Leviathan V2 Pro soundbar. More immersive gaming audio powered by AI head-tracking. Razer worked closely with THX and Audioscenic to get things right. And the end result, it says, ensures players “are always in the sweet spot for the best audio experience.”

Head-tracking itself is hardly a new technology and you’ll find it in VR headsets, gaming headsets and other devices. But Razer claims this is the first-time anyone has put it in a beamforming soundbar. The secret to how it all works is an integrated IR camera that detects your position. So whether you turn right or left, the IR camera picks it up and pushes sound toward that direction. It also directs the audio beams to your position in real-time.

While we haven’t tried the product ourselves yet, Razer says this provides the user with a surround soundstage that provides true-to-life 3D audio. To amp up the sound, the Leviathan V2 Pro comes with subwoofer for deeper bass.

Outside of sound features, the soundbar comes with Razer’s familiar Chroma RGB lighting with 30 lighting zones. All of that is packed into a compact formfactor as well, which should make it perfect for desktop PC gaming audio even on smaller surfaces. The Razer Leviathan V2 Pro will launch this month for $399.
