Google Play Store will undergo UI overhaul to flag security concerns
Thankfully, newly discovered flags indicate that Google may be planning a UI overhaul for the Play Store. The overhaul mainly focuses on similar security concerns.
First spotted by code sleuth AssembleDebu in GApps Flags & Leaks Telegram channel (via Android Police), Google appears to be working on a new onboarding UI for the Play Store. The new UI is still in testing but leaked screenshots suggest that it will prompt users to verify their identity and payment methods before they can download apps.
This could help to reduce the risk of accidental downloads, as well as downloads of apps that contain malware or incur charges. There is no word yet on when the new UI overhaul will be rolled out to all Android users.
