OPPO has just announced its new foldable smartphone, the OPPO Find N3. The device launched in Singapore, though this is its global announcement. The device follows the OPPO Find N3 Flip which was announced back in August.

The OPPO Find N3 has now been announced, hours ahead of the OnePlus Open

The OPPO Find N3, as many of you know, is basically a twin brother of the OnePlus Open, which will launch later today. This is a book-style foldable, which is larger than its predecessor, the OPPO Find N2.

OPPO decided to enlarge the phone, but the main design characteristics are still here. It is thinner than its predecessor, though, while it comes with much-improved cameras and internals. An Alert Slider is also included, while it was not included on the Find N2.

The phone comes in two color variants, Classic Black and Champagne Gold. The former has a vegan leather backplate, while the latter includes glass on the back. Those are the only two colors that got announced for global markets.

OPPO says that the phone “delivers a best-in-class two-in-one experience in a striking-looking, slimline package”. ColorOS 13.2 comes pre-installed on the device, on top of Android 13.

It comes with two displays, both of which are the brightest in the industry

It has very thin bezels around both of its displays, and a display camera hole on each of them. They’re placed in different spots, though. The main display measures 7.8 inches, while the cover panel measures 6.3 inches. Both of those panels are 120Hz displays, and they support 1,440Hz PWM dimming.

They’re also both LPTO AMOLED panels, and get immensely bright. They both got up to 2,800 nits of brightness, which makes both of those displays the brightest in the industry. The crease on the main display is once again minimal.

OPPO used a third-generation Flexion Hinge here, and it’s smaller than the previous ones, but more durable, says the company. The Find N3 also offers an IPX4 rating for splash resistance, and it has been certified by TÜV Rheinland for 1 million folds, which was unheard of until now.

The phone’s vegan leather model weighs only 239 grams

The OPPO Find N3 weighs only 239 grams (its vegan leather model, the glass model is a bit heavier), while it measures 11.7mm when closed. When opened, the phone measures 5.8mm in terms of thickness.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 fuels this smartphone, while OPPO included 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM on the inside. The OPPO Find N3 also comes with 512GB of UFS 4.0 flash storage. So the company used the latest and the greatest specs.

The OPPO Find N3 can be fully charged in only 42 minutes

A 4,800mAh battery is included, and supports 67W SuperVOOC charging. It can be charged up to 100% in only 42 minutes, says OPPO. Powerful speakers are also included, along with Spatial Audio support.

There are three cameras included on the back, backed by Hasselblad. Sony’s 48-megapixel LYTIA-T808 sensor is used as the main camera sensor. That is a two-layer stacked CMOS image sensor, and it looks great on paper. A 48-megapixel ultrawide camera is also included, and OPPO claims that it is “over 100% larger than the ultra-wide sensors in other flagship foldables”. The third camera on the back is a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto unit.

It seems like regions other than Singapore will have to wait a bit longer to be able to get the phone.
