With the holiday season upon us, Google is helping shoppers find great deals. It has added new tools to Search and Chrome to assist you in your holiday shopping. These include a dedicated deals page on Search and new features that help you easily keep an eye on prices.

Google intros new tools for the holiday shopping season

According to Google, 80% of holiday shoppers look for a good deal on holiday gifts, while more than 50% compare prices online before buying. Almost one-fourths of shoppers (23%) “procrastinate their holiday gift-giving because deals are hard to find.”

Google’s new deals destination on Search is a one-stop solution for all of these problems. It will host deals on a wide range of products from across the web. The dedicated deals page lets you filter items according to the category and pick the best deal. The company shows on-sale items from a variety of merchants, including designer labels, luxury multi-brand retailers, and local stores.

You can access this page by searching “shop deals” on Google. If you want something specific, like sneakers, searching “shop sneaker deals” will directly take you to the desired category. Items under each category are organized in a carousel. If you find an interesting product, you can click on it to learn more and visit the merchant site to purchase it.

Find discounts and price insights on Chrome

While Search will help you find deals on desired products, Chrome will ensure that you are getting the best prices. This is done by proactively looking for discount codes across the web. On the desktop, Google’s browser app will show the products that you recently checked out on shopping sites in your “Resume browsing” card.

If any product is eligible for a discount or promotion, you can quickly apply the coupon code and grab the deal. Chrome will also show active coupons on the address bar when you are on a merchant site. You can click the new Discount tag icon to find coupons.

Chrome is also adding Search’s price insights tool. Whenever available, you will see a “Shopping insights” label in the address bar. Clicking it will open a new section in the side panel where you will find the product’s price history for the past 90 days. This will give you an idea of its typical price range and peace of mind that you aren’t overpaying for it.

Google’s latest efforts to assist users during holiday shopping also include price drop alerts. When looking up something on Search or Chrome, you can click the bell icon next to the product name to sign up for alerts. You will get email and push notifications whenever the price drops. All of these tools are now available to users.
