Lenovo took the opportunity presented by MWC 2021 to present no fewer than 13-new “Go”-branded accessories and one new associated service. That is, of course, in addition to the unveiling of two new Chromebooks today, among other announcements.
Among the accessories announced, Lenovo unveiled five new input devices under the Go branding. It also took time to discuss three charging solutions. As well as three new audio gadgets and one accessory aimed at helping users carry it all. But one of the biggest announcements with regard to Lenovo Go accessories prior to MWC 2021, was the new Lenovo Go Central.
As its branding might imply, Lenovo Go Central is a software solution that the company intends to bring personalization and management of compatible accessories under a single roof. Summarily, allowing users to adjust mouse settings or audio configurations in a single application. The underlying goal, of course, is to make using all of the Lenovo Go accessories easy to control. In whatever way those are controllable and from one easy-to-access location.
Lenovo Go accessories cover the input gamut in the lead-up to MWC 2021
Looking past software solutions, Lenovo also unveiled a wealth of new input devices. Starting with a discussion of last month’s Lenovo Go Wireless Multi-Device Mouse. The mouse, as its branding implies, offers easy switching between up to three devices at the tap of a button. The devices can all be paired simultaneously, in effect. And then, users can cycle through with the round button on the top of the mouse.
Additionally, the mouse features on-the-fly DPI adjustment and exceptional battery life. In fact, the company says it can last up to 3 months of use on a single 1.5-hour charge. With Lenovo opting to allow either USB-C or Qi wireless charging. And, perhaps best of all, this mouse will work with just about any surface. That’s thanks to a blue optical sensor, according to the company. But ultimately, that means you won’t need to lug around a mouse pad.
Building on the ergonomic design elements and features of that Mouse, Lenovo also unveiled the Lenovo Go USB-C Wireless Mouse. Aimed at being lightweight and travel-friendly, the new mouse can last up to three months as well. And has the same blue optical sensor for multi-surface support. As well as a programmable utility button on the back and adjustable DPI sensitivity.
What this mouse lacks, of course, is wireless charging and multi-device pairing. Instead, Lenovo opted for a USB-C to USB-C Power Delivery Cable for rapid charging in just 1.5-hours.
Moving on from there, Lenovo also took the wraps off of a new vertically-oriented mouse. Namely, the Lenovo Go Wireless Vertical Mouse.
Designed to fit users more comfortably with smooth curves and an ergonomically-optimized hold angle, Lenovo says this mouse is held with the arm in a “natural handshake” position. And that, it continues, helps reduce wrist pressure and forearm strain. But the company went one step further still, designing the body of the mouse with an easy-to-clean, UV-coated cork material.
In terms of accuracy, Lenovo indicates that the Lenovo Go Wireless Vertical Mouse packs a DPI of 2400. And, to improve productivity further, it’s been enabled with six programmable buttons.
Rounding out the new mice from Lenovo, the company also announced a new Go-branded Wireless Split Keyboard and Wireless Numeric Keypad. As their branding implies, these are designed to be more ergonomic than a standard keyboard or keypad. The keyboard, for instance, features the same UV-coated cork material as the vertical mouse above. But that’s placed here along the palm rest. The keyboard itself is split at an angle for a more natural typing experience.
The wireless numeric keypad, conversely, is designed for use with a wireless keyboard or gadget that doesn’t feature one.
Finally, Lenovo revealed a new carry case for all of its new accessories, dubbed the Lenovo Go Tech Accessories Organizer.
The case features compression-molded compartmentalization for accessories as well as splash-proof zippers. That includes compartments for a mouse, power bank, earbuds, and power cables. As well as extra compartments for a phone and stylus pens. So users can be sure that their accessories survive the trip as well as increasing productivity. Setting aside its usefulness as a means to keep loose devices from cluttering up a laptop bag.
Lenovo announced some charging before MWC 2021 too
Looking past input devices, Lenovo also tackled the problem of power with its Go accessories prior to MWC 2021. First by reintroducing last month’s announcement, the Lenovo Go USB-C Laptop Power Bank.
As its name suggests, this is a portable charger for laptops. As such, it packs a 20,000 mAh capacity, with up to 65W of output to fuel up. But it also features simultaneous charging for up to three devices all at once. Or, Lenovo says, it can be used to charge up to two devices while the power bank itself is being charged. That’s delivered via two USB-C ports, rated at 65W max — split between 20V/3.25A, 15V/3A, 9V/3A, and 5V/3A modes. Another USB-A port is also part of the package at 18W max.
Joining the Lenovo Go USB-C Laptop Power Bank is the Lenovo Go USB-C Wireless Charging Kit. That provides, according to the company, “freedom of frequent movement between a workspace and other locations.”
Summarily, the new charging solution is capable of charging 13-inch or 14-inch laptops up to 65W without the need to disconnect or reconnect a power cord. The kit itself works via “Power by Contact” as made by Energysquare. It’s also just 3.2mm thick and delivers power with an efficiency of 93%.
Finally, the Lenovo Go Wireless Mobile Power Bank offers to charge at up to 30W via wireless Qi and two USB-C ports. That means that three devices can be powered up all at once or users can charge one or two things at a time for a higher rate. And that’s been given a 10,000mAh capacity too. So the new power bank should be able to charge anything from smartphones to Lenovo’s new mice.
And the audio wasn’t left out of today’s announcements either
Last but not least, Lenovo revealed four new audio Go accessories before MWC 2021 that should make life around the office, home, or home office easier. The first of those is a new conferencing device dubbed the Lenovo Go Wired Speakerphone. And it’s aimed primarily at enterprise workers.
As its branding implies, Lenovo Go Wired Speakerphone is a Teams Certified speakerphone. Because Lenovo aims the gadget for working environments, it’s absolutely no slouch. Not only does this speakerphone pack omnidirectional far-field mics and environmental noise cancellation. It also features acoustic echo control, automatic gain control, beamforming, and wide-band processing.
On the hardware side, Lenovo embedded LED hairline indicators as well. Helping users know what’s going on with their speakerphone at a glance. Lenovo paired that with a built-in control panel, including a dedicated Microsoft Teams button. And that, of course, is atop the already somewhat common volume wheel and control buttons with tactile response. The latter feature means that users won’t always need to look down at the gadget to use it.
Continuing in the vein of conference and video calling, Lenovo also announced a new Lenovo Go Wired ANC Headset. And the Lenovo Go Wireless ANC Headset. Again, as the branding implies, the first of those is a wired gadget, connectable via USB Type-C or Type-A. The other offers dual Bluetooth connectivity for simultaneous dual device pairing. In the latter case, the gadget also packs a USB-C option that charges and connects for communication.
Those two headsets also offer ANC, customizable software-controlled audio, and comfort to match those headlining features. Additionally, the wireless variant can last as long as up to 20 hours. And packs a range of up to 30m.
For those that prefer an in-ear option, Lenovo has that too. The Lenovo Go ANC In-ear Headphones offer the same features as the on-ear headsets. But they also offer ambient “talk-through” at the tap of a button and are an in-ear earbud design. The key difference between this and other in-ear wired buds, of course, is that these use USB-C.
Additionally, they offer in-line buttons for controlling more productivity-focused tasks. That’s as opposed to some recent gaming launches from Lenovo. And these headphones are also Teams Certified.
Pricing and availability
Now, the Lenovo pre-MWC 2021 Go accessories announcement offers up a lot to try and keep tabs on. But that also means that there should be something here to suit just about anybody’s needs.
In terms of pricing and availability, those details are all laid out too. With launches and availability starting in July and carrying on through January next year. Lenovo says its Go Wireless Multi-Device Mouse and Go USB-C Wireless Mouse, as well as its Go USB-C Laptop Power Bank (20,000 mAh), should each be available starting in July. The mice will cost $59.99 and $39.99, respectively. The power bank will start out at $89.99.
Conversely, Lenovo only expects one product to launch in August. That’s the Lenovo Go Wireless Vertical Mouse, starting at $49.99. And that will be followed up by one launch in September, with the $44.99 Lenovo Go Tech Accessories Organizer.
In October, Lenovo plans to launch its $89.99 Go Wireless Split Keyboard and $49.99 Go Wireless Numeric Keypad. That will be followed by its Go Wireless Charging Kit and Go Wired Speakerphone at $139.99 and $99.99.
December won’t see any launches at all from this line-up if everything goes according to plan. But Lenovo will launch its Go Wireless and Wired ANC Headsets starting at $99.99 and $179.99 in November. The Go ANC In-ear Headphones, conversely, will launch the same month, starting at $79.99.
Finally, in January of next year, Lenovo plans to launch its Go Wireless Mobile Power Bank (10,000 mAh) at $69.99.
