HTC has announced its brand new smartphone, the HTC U23 Pro. This is the device that was rumored recently, and is a new member of the company’s U series of smartphones.
This is not a high-end device, however, it’s a mid-range smartphone. It comes with a built-in VIVERSE platform, as HTC teased when it initially shared a partial image of the device.

Having said that, the HTC U23 Pro has a flat display, with a centered display camera hole. Its physical buttons sit on the right-hand side, and the power/lock key doubles as a fingerprint scanner.
There are four cameras included on the back, in the top-left corner. All of them protrude quite a bit. HTC’s logo is imprinted on the back, though it’s not too flashy, not at all.
This smartphone features a 6.7-inch fullHD+ (2400 x 1080) OLED display with a 20:9 aspect ratio. This panel has a 120Hz refresh rate, and it’s protected by the Gorilla Glass Victus.
The Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 fuels this handset, while the phone comes with 8GB/12GB of RAM. It also includes 256GB of expandable storage. There are two SIM card slots included here, while Android 13 comes pre-installed.
A 4,600mAh battery is also a part of the package. The phone supports 30W wired, 15W wireless, and also reverse wireless charging. Bluetooth 5.2 is included, while 5G is supported (SA/NSA).
The device is water and dust resistant, and has four rear-facing cameras
The HTC U23 Pro is IP67 certified for water and dust resistance. You’ll also find a 3.5mm headphone jack on this smartphone, which is not something we see that often these days.
A 108-megapixel main camera (f/1.7 aperture, OIS) sits on the back, along with an 8-megapixel ultrawide unit (f/2.4 aperture). A 2-megapixel depth camera is also located on the back, as is a 5-megapixel macro shooter (f/2.4 aperture). On the front, you’ll find a 32-megapixel selfie camera (f/2.45).
The HTC U23 Pro measures 166.6 x 77.09 x 8.88mm, while it weighs 205 grams. The device comes in Coffee Black and Muxer White color options. It’s priced at TW$16,990 ($552) for the 8GB RAM model with 256GB of storage. The 12GB RAM variant with the same amount of storage costs TW$17,990 ($585). The device is already on sale in Taiwan.
