Samsung is readying a new fitness tracker to succeed the Galaxy Fit 2 launched in September 2020. Presumably called the Galaxy Fit 3, the next-gen model is expected to arrive in the first half of 2024. A few days back, we saw the device in a rose gold color courtesy of leaked renders. We now have a fresh set of renders giving us a more detailed look at the new Fit. Along with a Gold version, the tracker is also coming in Black and Grey.

Samsung’s fitness tracker is seeing a major redesign next year. The Galaxy Fit 3 will feature a larger display thanks to its wider body (measures 46.6 x 18.6 x 11.3mm). It looks more like a rectangular smartwatch, though the company may not make it a full-fledged smartwatch. While we are expecting a wide range of health features, the Fit model may not run Wear OS like the Galaxy Watch devices. That means a limited selection of third-party apps.

Nonetheless, the Galaxy Fit 3 will be a decent pick for anyone looking to buy a low-cost wrist wearable with robust health monitoring capabilities. Rumors have it that Samsung will price it at around $80 (KRW 100,000 in South Korea). Since we don’t have its full feature set and performance details, we can’t tell whether the device will be worth the money. However, leaked specs are promising.

Certification listings and other leaks have revealed that the Galaxy Fit 3 will sport a 1.1-inch 3D AMOLED display that boasts 450nits of peak brightness (via 91Mobiles). The device will likely run a custom OS from Samsung with a relatively less powerful chip compared to the Galaxy Watch 6‘s Exynos W930. It has 2MB of RAM and 32MB of built-in storage, so that tells a lot about the sort of product we are looking at.

The new fitness tracker packs a 200mAh battery that should run for weeks on a single charge (features two pogo pins on the back for charging). Samsung will reportedly rate the device for a 21-day battery life. The Galaxy Fit 3 will boast an IP68 dust and water resistance too, so you can wear it during light swimming sessions, extensive workouts, and under slight drizzle. Weighing just 21 grams, it should be comfortable to wear for a prolonged period.

The device may be compatible with Android and iOS

The next-gen fitness band from Samsung will reportedly be compatible with Android devices running Android 5.0 or higher with more than 1.5GB RAM and iPhone 7 and above running iOS 10.0 or higher. It will come with more than 70 built-in watch faces. Leaked renders show a microphone next to the power button on the right side. Whether that means calling features, time will tell. We will keep you posted with all the latest information about the Galaxy Fit 3.
