Featured image for Black Friday phone deals 2023: The Best Early Sales

Black Friday doesn’t technically start until November 24, but that’s not stopping retailers and companies from starting their Black Friday sales early. In fact, we’ve already seen a good amount of Black Friday deals available for smartphones. So we’re here to round up the best Black Friday smartphone deals that you can pick up right now.

Some of these deals include all-time lows on phones like the Google Pixel 7a, or $200 off of the OnePlus Open, and many other great deals. Of course, because these are phone deals, a good number of them do require service – like the free 1TB iPhone 15 Pro Max, unfortunately.

Black Friday Phone Deals 2023

iPhone 15 Pro Max

With this deal, Boost Infinite is basically giving you a free iPhone 15 Pro Max with 1TB of storage. That’s a $1,599 phone, so there’s gotta be a catch right? Well, there is, kinda. Boost Infinite will charge you $76.67 per month, and that includes your phone plan that is $60. That’s unlimited talk, text and data included here for that price. That’s a really good deal, considering you will also be able to upgrade to the latest iPhone every year.

Just how good of a deal is that? Well, I am in the iPhone Upgrade Program, and pay about $56 per month for an iPhone 15 Pro Max with only 256GB of storage, and then still have to pay about $80 to AT&T for service. So that’s a really incredible deal, if you’re willing to give Boost Infinite a try.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Review AM AH 05

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is one of the best phones to come out in 2023. It checked all of the boxes, with an impressive camera, great battery life, and a brilliant display. Samsung has also already upgraded it to Android 14, which is really impressive. That also comes with OneUI 6.

Samsung’s Galaxy S23 Ultra is one of my favorite phones of the year, largely because you know what you’re getting here. It’s not a experimental device like the foldables that out there. Instead, you’re getting a stable phone here with the S Pen and a big display for watching content. It really doesn’t get much better than that.

OnePlus Open

OnePlus Open AM AH 17

The OnePlus Open is hands-down my favorite foldable of the year. It does so many things that the competitors just haven’t been able to do. That comes down to the crease on the display. It’s basically non-existent. I’ve been using the OnePlus Open for a couple of months now and absolutely love my experience with this device. It’s hard to put it down, even two months later.

Of course, this is OnePlus, so they’ve also thrown in as many high-end specs as they possibly could. That includes 2K resolution displays with a peak brightness of 2,800 nits. Along with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. That makes this phone feel super fast and smooth. Of course, the software has part of that responsibility and OnePlus has done some interesting things with software here. OnePlus has debuted Open Canvas, which in the simplest of terms, gives you more screen real estate than you really have.

With Open Canvas, you can open apps and push them off the screen. So you can have multiple apps open without really having a small app window on the OnePlus Open. Which makes for a really huge difference.

Google Pixel 7a

Google Pixel 7a Review AM AH 07

When it comes to budget phones, some are not great. While others are impressively great, and that’s where the Pixel 7a falls. Today, however, you can get it for even less – at just $374.99. The Pixel 7a has all of the great features you’d expect from a Pixel. That includes a 90Hz display, the Tensor G2 processor with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It also has a brand new 64-megapixel camera on-board.

Now, obviously this camera sounds better than what the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro have, but that’s not actually true. The Pixel 7a does have a 64-megapixel sensor, which is higher than a 50-megapixel camera. But the Pixel 7a has smaller pixels. It’ll still take great pictures, and it did in our review of the phone. But it won’t outperform the Pixel 8 unfortunately.

When is Black Friday 2023?

Black Friday is always the Friday after Thanksgiving, which this year, lands on November 24, 2023. In previous years, before the pandemic, stores would open up on Thursday evening to start Black Friday shopping. That’s becoming less of a thing, with more and more stores opting to stay closed on Thanksgiving, letting their employees spend the holiday with their families.

It’s not quite as big of an in-store event as it used to be, prior to the pandemic. Especially with online shopping being so easy these days. However, Black Friday sales are starting earlier and earlier than ever. They used to truly start the Tuesday or Wednesday before Black Friday. Now we see some retailers starting their Black Friday sales back in October. A full month ahead of the event.

Black Friday is the true start to the holiday shopping season, with Cyber Monday happening the following Monday and then Small Business Tuesday the next day. The following Monday we have “Green Monday” as well, which is another smaller shopping holiday.

What is the Best Smartphone?

We have spent hundreds of hours testing and reviewing many of the best smartphones on the market today. In fact, you can check out our list of the Best Smartphones to see more of the best that are available right now. But our overall Best Smartphone pick is the Galaxy S23 Ultra. It does everything you’d want for the money, and also offers incredible battery life along with the S Pen. Now is it the best for everyone? Of course not. That’s why we have a list of the Best Smartphones, with the Best camera phone, the Best battery life phone and much more.

How do we choose the Best Black Friday Phone Deals?

Here at AndroidHeadlines, we believe that the best Black Friday deals are only as good as the products that are on sale. Meaning, just because something has a big discount, doesn’t mean it’s a good deal. As you’ll see here, we did not mention any smartphones, these are all on the more expensive side, and that’s because it is a much better product than some of those cheaper smartphones.

Some other criteria that we used is if the pricing was lower than what it typically is. We cover deals all year round, so we know what the discount prices usually are. And all of those on this roundup are prices that are lower than the normal discounts. Not quite all-time lows, but pretty close. That way you can buy one now, and not worry about the price changing much, come Black Friday.
